Build your rifle on the bench.
The same bench you get in the Zima Ballistics app: a rifle with its optic, suppressor and ammo, solved as one.
The Rifle Builder is under development. Today you can pick from the app's own 118 rifles, 263 optics, 504 suppressors and 104 night-vision, rail and light accessories, and open a build from the app. Soon it will have other weapon-mounted gear such as grips, plus rifle coloring. You can export your build to the app as a file. Five sample loads are built in.
How to use the Rifle Builder ▾
- Pick your parts — choose a rifle, optic and suppressor; the bench picture changes as you go.
- Choose a load — five sample loads, with the bullet, ballistic coefficient and muzzle velocity filled in.
- Set the shot — zero distance, sight height, target range and wind.
- Read your hold — elevation and windage in MOA and MIL, plus a drop table every 100 yd. Your build is saved in this browser.
For every setting (weather, drag models, wind zones, metric), use the Ballistic Solver.
🍌 Side mounting is coming soon. We only have side views of each part, and showing one on the side of a rifle needs a verified view of its top. Until then a banana stands in for any part set to the side. It exports as a side mount, so the app still draws the real part.
Parts fit by the app's own measurements, using the pictures' side views.
What the builder can't do yet
- Not the whole catalog: 118 rifles, 263 optics, 504 suppressors and 104 night clip-ons, rail accessories and lights, drawn from the app's pictures. A part the app has added since is drawn on a generic picture until the site catches up.
- No side mounting yet for rangefinders and lasers: we only have side views, so those set to the side are shown as a banana until we have verified top views. A weapon light is round, so its side picture is right from every face: it goes on top, on the side or underneath, the side by default.
- Second sights are pictures only: a mini dot stacked on the optic, a magnifier behind a red dot and an offset sight canted to either side are drawn the way the app draws them, and they come into the app with the build, but the hold is always the main optic's.
- One part per slot: one optic, one suppressor, one night clip-on or aiming laser, one rangefinder and one weapon light. Grips, bipods and stocks are not in yet.
- Five sample loads, or the load from a build you open. Hold numbers use a standard atmosphere (59 °F, 29.92 inHg, sea level). Custom drag curves are estimated with G7.
- Saved in this browser only. Use Export to take a build to the app.
- No rifle coloring or more devices yet.
Your Own Data.
Export saves a .ballisticsbuild file; open it on your phone and the app adds the rifle, optic, suppressor, load, zero and picture placement to My Armory. You can also open a build shared from the app, adjust it here, and export it back.
